The GGG+ Forum

At the GGG + Forum 2017 Yvonne  addressed 400+ delegates, she encouraged Japanese leaders to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by reducing infectious diseases including AIDS ;TB Malaria; ending Polio; decreasing Malnutrition and increasing gender equity.

Yvonne also shared her experience from her Kisumu Kenya trip with Japanese MPs and highlighted the work of Results Japan on fighting Jiggers.

Yvonne engaged the Prime Minister’s Adviser and the Ministry of Foreign Affair Head of Finance on these issues. Yvonne also congratulated Japan for taking active leadership on Global Health Security, contributing to infectious disease control and UHC. The GGG+Forum was aimed at encouraging the Japanese government to increase financial resources required to achieve global health security prior to the UHC Summit in December 2017.

Also while still in Japan, Yvonne visited Kamaishi City to support  children that were affected by the March 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami as part of her being an Kamaishi ambassador.
